JONC auditions are addressed to those who were born or are living in Catalonia, as well as to people who are somehow linked to Catalonia for academic reasons or because their current residence is here.

However, other people coming from other Spanish counties or even from abroad who are interested will be able to be eligible as applicants after meeting guest status, if appropriate.

Selected applicants will gain status as members of the JONC for a period of two years the first time and for a period of one year every time their contract is renewed.

Applicants who gain status as substitute or guest will have it over a year period.

JONC

In order to be eligible as a member of the JONC, applicants must be under 23 years of age at the time of the audition.

Applicants will present a classical piece (dated between 1730 and 1830) of their own election and all the orchestral passages that belong to their instrument, as it is published in the website when the application period starts. The Assessment Committee will choose the passages for each applicant to perform.

Junior JONC

In order to be eligible for the first time, applicants must be under 18 years of age at the time of the audition.

Applicants will have to present a classical piece (dated between 1730 and 1830) and prepare the orchestral passages mentioned in the website.

Applicants who are selected for the first time being already 17 will have to renew every year until they turn 19 at the most.

JONC Philharmonic

Any musician under 30 years of age holding superior qualifications will be eligible as applicant. If superior qualifications cannot be proofed, applicants can present an academic or professional curriculum.

The audition will consist of the first movement of a concert belonging to the classical style as well as all the corresponding orchestral passages mentioned in the website. Should not be classical repertoire for the instrument, a concert belonging to the standard repertoire will be performed.
